Specialized Team
Institute of Ocular Inflammation & Pathology of the Eye
Ten years ago we had a very ambitious plan.
To create a Specialized Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of all Eye Inflammations, the equivalent of which would not exist in Greece.
To build a Center where the possibilities of modern advanced technology would give us the opportunity to seamlessly provide all our patients with our knowledge and experience.
Common reasons you will come to us
Our specialized knowledge
Autoimmune diseases and the eye in adults and children
Autoimmune diseases can affect the eye in both adults and children, causing inflammatory conditions such as uveitis, conjunctivitis or dry eye, making it important to work closely with an ophthalmologist and a rheumatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Juvenile arthritis and iridocyclitis
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is often associated with iridocyclitis, an inflammation of the front part of the eye, which can develop silently and lead to serious complications such as glaucoma or cataracts if not treated early.
Eye infections
Eye infections include a wide range of conditions, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis and endophthalmitis, which can be caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites, requiring prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatment to avoid permanent damage to vision.

Toxoplasmosis
Ocular toxoplasmosis is an acute posterior, infectious uveitis caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It is the most common cause of posterior uveitis.

Guidance in decision making in both complex clinical and surgical cases
Guiding decision making in complex clinical or surgical cases requires systematic evaluation of data, interdisciplinary collaboration, use of evidence-based guidelines, and an individualized approach that takes into account both the medical data and the patient’s preferences and needs.
